Using data supplied by clinicians and their service users from the Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust, the Appadoodle team has developed a pioneering new mobile phone app called Focus ADHD, which aims to support the coping strategies of service users with the condition.
The Focus ADHD app has been developed to aid the flow of communication between patients and doctors. When the service user engages with the app on a daily basis, a mood diary is built up which encapsulates and safely secures data, based on the key themes of mood, medication, sleep, diet and activity levels. Once safely stored, the data can be accessed by both patient and clinician providing a clearer picture of how to manage and cope with symptoms in the future. The Focus ADHD app also features elements of gamification to engage service users and encourage ongoing participation.
